Behind every behaviour lies a certain feeling motivated by a certain thought, driven by a certain value, and undergirded by a certain belief.
If we can look beyond the things that our children do and say, especially those that are hurtful and inappropriate, it will put us in a better position to help them choose better and more positive alternatives the next time as we walk with them through their feelings and thinking.
When we engage their hearts, enrich their minds and enable them to make better choices as they grow, we nurture them from the inside-out, and we can be more assured that the positive behaviours that they pick up along way will be there with them for the long haul.
