GUIDELINES FOR WALMART RE-BILL

1. Immediately contact your bank and tell them that you see a charge which you neither authorized nor recognize.

"Hi, I see a charge for $XXX from Walmart.com on my statement and I do not recognize it. I have not shopped from Walmart today and I certainly did not authorize any such charges."

2. DO NOT tell them anything about you ordering from Walmart AND/OR returning any orders. If your bank asks you whether you ever shopped from Walmart, tell them that you did a long time ago and you do not remember when you did.

"Yeah, I did shop from Walmart at some time but I don't exactly remember when. Anyway, it has been a long time since I shopped there. I can't even check when the last order was since they closed my account and I am unable to log in."

Please consider that for instants, we do not have any return labels/trackings as proof of return. So, if you mention it to the bank that you "returned" the order, they'll, by all means, ask you for a return tracking. So, please avoid telling them about returning items.

3. Wait for the bank to investigate into the problem. Through their investigation, banks can see whether the charge was approved by you or not. Most banks usually deal with cases of unauthorized activity very seriously and they reverse the charges immediately or within a couple of days or so.

This is the approach that I would suggest but you may slightly modify it as well according to your own needs.

All in all, we have seen these problems occur already. Last year it was CostCo and this time it is Walmart. But, like every other re-bill wave, we will be able to bypass this one as well if we play it smart enough.
