The Creative Process...
This is true not only for creating art, but for everything we create:
You might have an idea for a new start-up.
You might start working out.
You might decide to learn a new language.
You might start drawing.
You might start learning a new skill.
These are the 4 things you should avoid:
1. Not getting started at all
2. Having an awesome idea, but not taking the first step, not taking action.
3. When the initial optimism and excitement wears off, and it gets hard, most of us quit.
4. If we work hard and then look with disappointment at what we've created, most of us quit.
5. When we see what we've created as a reflection of ourselves and blame ourselves for the dismal quality of the project, most of us quit.
But we have to trust the process. Rarely is patience and trust so important. You will go through these steps and stages so many times, you just need to have confidence in
your skills and abilities.
The next time you are about to give up, remember this concept and by all means don't give up, trust the process.
