Becoming fluent in trills all over the cello is one of the most enjoyable challenges we have. Making trills between all the fingers even is crucial to us gaining more control over our hands, thus increasing our interpretative powers when it comes to playing music! In this clip, watch as virtuoso cellist @daniel.lelchuk explains how to practice the weakest combination of all— the trill between the third and fourth fingers. As Lelchuk explains, we all need to find our base level trill and work our way up from there, and he encourages us to use the classic method “Play slow to play fast!”

She will release no less than three CDs with her Chopin Project this Friday at @dgclassics. Not only Chopin is featured in this, but also the French cellist and composer Auguste Franchomme, a good friend of Chopin.
