The social credit system is coming to Europe.
In Bologna, Italy, a "smart citizen's purse" has been introduced that rewards "righteous" citizens with points.
Citizens receive points/rewards for sorting waste, using public transportation, being careful with energy, not being fined by the municipality, and being active with the cultural card.
At first glance, these seem like good intentions. But it is only a matter of time before the rewards turn into sanctions (e.g. refusal to vaccinate or criticism of the government).
By the way, this project of the "European portfolio of digital identity" is headed by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who, let us not forget, was not elected by the European citizens.
