According to legend, Wing Chun was created by the Buddhist nun Ng Mui, who was a master of Shaolin Kung Fu. Using her martial training and personal experience, she synthesized a compact form of Kung Fu to exploit weaknesses inherent in the other combat styles of her time and give an advantage to smaller fighters like herself. Her style became known as
Wing Chun, after Ng Mui's first student, a woman named Yim Wing Chun.

The why's of why wing chun grew in popularity:

(1) it is very practical in the modern world; no weapon is needed, doable in cramped areas, depend on muscle memory and quick reflexes plus it is direct, efficient and simple. Oh and let's not forget that you are not wasting time doing high kicks..really ...what's the point of learning to kick a man off his horse nowadays. (2) it can be learned in a relatively short period of time: most of the martial arts require at least a decade to learn...2 years are enough to learn the core of wing chun,
(3) it can be practiced by people of all sizes, shapes and degrees of athletic ability.it doesn't depend on strength, speed, extraordinary flexiblity.rather it uses structure, timing, natural anatomy.

The points that make it different from other forms of martial arts:
-Simultaneously attack and defence.
-You attack your oponent with no respite till you beat them.
-You attack suddenly; without warning, and use the structure of your entire body instead of winding up.
-Use Chi Sau(striking hand) method to develop precision and economy of movement.

This youtube playlist; prepared by master Wong, with a 60 lessons course is perfect for beginner to start learning wing chun.

I recommend choosing early mornings: no one is around to disrupt my workout..less chance of skipping
becaus you are tired..yoy can do it before your morning shower..plus It wakes you up even better than a cup of coffee .
you can choose your own time..just make sure it helps you establish a routine..
2- Choose any routine to follow.i.e. prepare for your workout: you should aim for 25 minutes daily of aerobic exercise...but don't be rigid...If you want to do a 7 minute workout then who am I to judge...the point is making exercise as much of a routine as brushing your teeth(as an example).
3-Check in daily here till you reach each mile stone:

Do it one step at a time...and obe day you'll be like "Wow...I am actually eating right"
I am starting by all forms of soda: at first I am aiming to never buy it(that should help a little)
Then I'll stop accepting them from anyone else...e.g. as a refreshment if I am a guest
