UK to impose £5,000 fine for those who travel outside of England?

@thelaurenchen looks at govts taking a grip of pre-pandemic freedoms in this RT special:

In the UK, the “Roadmap Regulations” proposal, which Parliament will vote on Thursday, aims to fine those who travel outside of England “without a reasonable excuse” £5,000. The new proposal comes at a time when the vaccine rollout is well underway in the UK, and domestic restrictions are gradually being lifted. Non-essential travel is already banned under the current Stay At Home orders, though at the moment, the penalty for failing to fill out a travel declaration form is a much lower £200.

It’s been proposed that if cases continue to drop to the satisfaction of health officials, international travel for recreation may be permitted to resume as of May 17th. However, whether “vaccine passports” will be required for travelers remains to be seen.

Throughout the past year, citizens around the world have had their basic freedoms trampled on by the state in the name of “safety.” And throughout it all, we have been promised that fewer cases and a vaccine would signal a return to normalcy. But as the UK’s new proposal proves, government bureaucrats have now gotten used to exercising unlimited power over the populace, and it’s unlikely they’ll voluntarily surrender this new status quo.
