In 2011, Former Mt Elgon MP John Serut with his bodyguards (3 APs & 1 Prison officer) while armed shot and killed unarmed man, Suleiman Kiplimo, in cold blood. Bodyguards were sentenced to DEATH by hanging but later revised to 15yrs in jail for each of them. Serut who was also armed never saw the inside of the court. John Serut has never visited them ever since. They are due for DISCHARGE next month. Three of them are held in Eldoret, one in Kapenguria!
