Fear Not [1]
Be still and know He’s able.

“Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things.”
Joel 2:21 KJV

The subject of completely trusting God and giving Him our absolute yes is one that we must constantly be enlightened on because it is the very foundation of our daily choices and decisions. We may sometimes be caught up in the idea of playing safe by doing all our calculations ahead of time just so we are sure of what we’re getting ourselves into or maybe our way of agreeing to what the Lord asks us to do. More often than not, we subconsciously affirm our faith by putting everything into perspective, drawing the cost-benefit analysis and when all goes in our favor, we are the most confident, convinced and relaxed and we think that’s trusting God. No, that’s not faith, that’s risk management. That's analyzing the pros and cons before action. Scripture makes it clear that Faith is trusting God for what is known to him but in most cases unknown to us. Now, I used “in most cases” because sometimes the Lord shows us a sketch of what he’s doing, then expects us to trust Him for the finished work. We deceive ourselves by thinking we are trusting God for the very things we have already justified, more so when we are convinced that everything adds up. What about stepping into the great unknown? We still need to trust him even more. God wants us to rely completely on him and believe that he is more than able. So fear not, be glad and rejoice, for the Lord will do great things. Stop assessing everything he tells you to do before you do it. Stop assessing his faithfulness based on the circumstances around you. Stop analyzing the potency of his words to you based on your circumstances. Trust the Lord at all times, believe that he is faithful and there’s absolutely nothing too hard for him.
