Do you know why our efforts to get it right with God doesn’t work? Hebrews 11:6 says “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Seen it? It requires faith to make God nod his head in approval. Faith is the right way. It’s not about what you make yourself but what his word makes you. Therefore having faith in what he said about you is what is going to empower you to walk right before him and always get it right with him. It starts from the word, it starts with faith. The continuation of our head verse says that God is the rewarder of those who diligently seek him, also those who look up to him. Not those who can prove themselves to him. Yes. This is why we get it wrong. We get it wrong when we don’t start from the word, when we don’t start from what he said. Because faith comes from the word and it can give you the reality of what he said about you. So from our self-constructed righteousness where we fail over and over, we have to be broken to be made whole. We have to come to undo ourselves so his will can be done in us. It’s time to resurrender and get back to the word.
