The National Identification Number (NIN) doesn’t have an expiry date.

5. How do I find out if my NIN number is linked?
You can find this out by dialing the USSD code prescribed by your subscriber. Or login to the NIMC mobile app to check if your SIM card is liked to your NIN

6. Will my bank account be blocked if my line is not linked to NIN?
No. Only SIM cards lines will be blocked. However, the federal government might decide not to allow you to receive sms which will prevent you from receiving debit or credit alert on the blocked phone number if the SIM card is linked to your bank account.

7. Is NIN the same as a national ID card?
No. They are different from one another. A National Identity card is a physical means of ID while NIN is the digital aspect of it.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) says MTN Nigeria and Mafab Communications Limited are expected to commence the rollout of 5G services effective from August 24, 2022.

Ikechukwu Adinde, NCC director of public affairs, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.

In December 2021, after 11 rounds of bidding that lasted for eight hours, Mafab and MTN Nigeria emerged as the two successful winners of the 3.5gigahertz (GHz) spectrum auction for the deployment of 5G technology in Nigeria.

The commission further confirmed that the two companies fully paid $273.6 million each for the 5G spectrum licence.

-YouTube Go was launched in 2016 for developing markets as a lightweight alternative to the regular app but it will go away in August, the platform announced on its Community forums.

-The video platform advised users of the lite app to either switch to the regular YouTube application on their Android or visit youtube.com in the browser.

-When YouTube Go was introduced five years ago, it lacked the ability for users to comment, post and create content, or use Dark Mode at all. However, all these features have become an integral part of the video platform and that’s why the app will be going away.

-The announcement also confirmed there have been improvements regarding performance, especially on low-end devices, and the regular YouTube app will no longer be a strain on the connectivity or data prices.
