Pele appealed to Putin.
The legendary Brazilian soccer player wrote an Instagram message to the Russian president calling for a halt to the military conflict in Ukraine:
"When we met and exchanged a broad smile accompanied by a long handshake, it was impossible to imagine that one day we could be as divided as we are today. The power to stop this conflict is in your hands. The same ones I held in Moscow the last time we met in 2017".
