Astronomers said something strange is happening to the Sun: an increasing number of sunspots show unusual activity.
Earlier this week, a massive sunspot was discovered on the Sun pointing toward Earth, which increased 10-fold in two days. Today, scientists are baffled by another spot - instead of horizontal magnetic fields, it has vertical ones rotated 90 degrees. An amateur astronomer filmed large streams of plasma rushing out of the spot into space.
