An Englishman who farted in a policeman's face will go to jail for 34 months.
The man was caught shoplifting. He took out 33 pounds worth of beer. And while he was in custody, he farted in the face of one of the lawmen.
Of course, they put him in jail mainly for the beer, but the fact of the fart (deliberate and committed with particular cynicism) was recorded in the report and appeared in the case as an aggravating circumstance.
