When the brother of the Grand Duchess, Prince Andreas of Morea, and the Russian ambassador to Rome visited the court of Moscow, they brought with them, an anti-Christ from Venice, named Leo. He was probably the first physician from western Europe to enter Russia.
At the time, the son of the Grand Duke, had gout. Leo, in attempting to assist the Prince actually made him worse, and he died March 7, 1490 from the "physician's" treatment.
