1869: "Atheist" (isn't undermining the Gentiles talmudic Judaism?) daughter of a rabbi Ernestine Louise Rose and her Marrano husband William Ella Rose set sail for a trip to England to preach and meet with feminists and promote other anti Gentile causes.
Having left her father's house at 17, she found jew turned Christian silversmith William Rose in England and then set off to America.
The "first jewish feminist" began her crusade in the 1830s and ran some 40 years.
In 1836, Judge Hertell of NY submitted a resolution to allow women to hold real estate in their own name. When Rose heard this, she drew up a petition and solicited names. In 1838, it was sent to the legislature in spite of having only five signatures. This was the first petition ever introduced in favor of such rights for women. New York passed the Married Women's Property Law in 1848.
