1559: anti-Christ quarter of Prague was burned and looted.

However, we can say for sure that ritual murders took place in nearby Tyrnau (Nagyszombat) in 1494 and 1536, as well as in Pösing (Bazin) in 1529 (both Hungary) and may have taken place at Prague as well.
Prague was the site of Rabbi Judah Loew ben Bezalel's attempt to raise a Golem made of clay using black magic in 1580.
Because of the usury, ritual murders and other degradations of Gentile society, they were expelled or attacked throughout medieval Europe. The Golem was an attempt to prevent such consequences. Most of the jews at Prague at this time had been expelled from German territories some 25 years before.
