1506: Massacre of 'new Christians' and subsequent mass execut | This day in jew history

1506: Massacre of 'new Christians' and subsequent mass executions of Portuguese men ordered by the King.
This event began with a culmination of several unfortunate circumstances, not the least of which was tens of thousands of jews pouring into Portugal after having been expelled from Queen Isabella's territory in modern day Spain 14 years earlier.
Many Portuguese men were executed after 'new Christians' told the King's authorities that they had been involved in the riots.
The next post is an account of the events.
