Unknown "treasure hunters" desecrated a cemetery located 200 meters from the Church of St. Theodoros (Zoravar) in the Kotayk region of Armenia. This was reported by the Monument Protection Service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.
“In search of the treasure, unidentified persons dug two holes (50-60 cm deep, 1 meter in diameter) in the territory of the cemetery located between the crypt and the Zoravar church, dating back to the 7th century, in the Zoravan community of the Kotayk region,” the message says.
On this fact, the Monument Protection Service will contact the police.
