216-foot statue of Saint Ramanujacharya named ‘Statue of Equality’ was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in Hyderabad on February 5.

The Statue is made of ‘panchaloha’, a combination of five metals: gold, silver, copper, brass, and zinc.

It is the second tallest sitting statue in the world.

The inauguration of the Statue of Equality is a part of the 12-day Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi Samaroham, the 1000th birth anniversary celebrations of Sri Ramanujacharya.
