DPM Heng slams Pritam Singh’s independent Budget office idea as ‘wasteful’ in Budget round-up speech
Referring to Mr Pritam Singh’s idea to establish an independent parliamentary Budget office that provide expert fiscal analyses to the public, Mr Heng Swee Keat said this was a “wasteful duplication” of other efforts to scrutinise expenditures, such as the annual audit by the Auditor General and budgetary reports by two parliamentary committees which have WP representation.
