In Singapore, the Government’s earlier start-stop approach towards EV adoption for more than a decade had left some industry players, prospective buyers wondering about its future here. As recent as August 2019, a Cabinet Minister had questioned the feasibility of EVs, saying that hydrogen fuel cell technology was a better long-term solution than EVs.
But that is set to change following major moves announced in the last two years, with the Government declaring that it is placing a significant bet on EVs.
