2021-05-05 11:17:50 Trump launches new communications platform months after Twitter, Facebook ban

EXCLUSIVE: Former President Trump launched a communications platform on Tuesday, which will serve as "a place to speak freely and safely," and will eventually give him the ability to communicate directly with his followers, after months of being banned from sites like Twitter and Facebook.

The platform, "From the Desk of Donald J. Trump" appears on www.DonaldJTrump.com/desk.

The space allows Trump to post comments, images, and videos.

"In a time of silence and lies," a video Trump posted to the platform Tuesday night says. The video then plays news reports describing his suspension from Twitter.

"A beacon of freedom arises. A place to speak freely and safely," the video continues, showing the new platform. "Straight from the desk of Donald J. Trump."

The technology appears to be powered by Campaign Nucleus— the "digital ecosystem made for efficiently managing political campaigns and organizations," created by his former campaign manager, Brad Parscale.

The space allows Trump to post, and allows followers to share the former president’s posts to Twitter and Facebook, however, the new platform does not have a feature to allow users to "reply" or engage with Trump’s posts.

"This is just a one-way communication," one source familiar with the space told Fox News. "This system allows Trump to communicate with his followers."

The site has a sign-up list for people to enter their phone numbers and email addresses in order to receive alerts for when Trump posts a new message.

Trump’s new platform surfaced Tuesday, after advisers had told Fox News that the former president planned to "move forward" to create a social media platform of his own after being banned from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Snapchat after the Capitol riot.

"President Trump’s website is a great resource to find his latest statements and highlights from his first term in office, but this is not a new social media platform," senior advisor Jason Miller told Fox News. "We’ll have additional information coming on that front in the very near future."

The rollout of the platform also comes just a day before Facebook's Oversight Board is expected to announce its decision on whether to indefinitely suspend Trump from Facebook and Instagram.

2021-04-24 19:15:23 Trump to Hannity: Big Tech should face antitrust scrutiny, slams CNN over leaked video

In an exclusive interview with "Hannity," former President Donald J. Trump said that social media and Big Tech firms like Facebook, Twitter, Amazon and Google should face the scrutiny of antitrust investigatory bodies, given their monopolistic actions toward American political discourse.

The Palm Beach, Fla., resident added that a video released by investigative journalist James O'Keefe proves that CNN committed "campaign violations."

In the video, CNN technical director Charles Chester made several shocking revelations about the network's mission to "get Trump out", and that CNN President Jeffrey Zucker would call into the control room on a "red phone" to demand COVID-19 casualty data be made more prominent during a newscast to increase ratings.

"I’m getting the word out because we are doing [press] releases," Trump said of being banned by Twitter and Facebook. "Every time I do a release, it’s all over the place. It is better than Twitter. Much more elegant than Twitter and Twitter is really boring."

"When I started with Twitter years ago, it was like a fail concept, a platform, fail. And it became exciting. And I think I had a lot to do with it to be honest with you, it became exciting. Now it is boring. It is no good anymore."

When Hannity asked about the Project Veritas video, Trump called Chester's revelations "incredible."

"That is a campaign violation. What they are doing is a massive campaign violation. When you look at what they did," he said.

Trump added that Big Tech titans like Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrongfully dumped hundreds of millions of dollars into entities that affect election security measures such as oft-unsupervised ballot dropboxes.

Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla Chan first contributed $250 million to the Center for Tech and Civic Life in early September to boost resources for local election officials, such as additional polling places and ballot drop boxes. Critics contended the money primarily went to heavily Democratic areas in battleground states in an effort to tilt the balance.

The ex-president added that he is still heavily considering starting his own social media platform, which he said would not be beholden to Amazon or Google.

2021-04-11 19:55:01 Trump goes after McConnell, Fauci in off-script Mar-a-Lago speech

Former President Trump blasted Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell, calling him a "dumb son of a b----," in decidely off-script remarks at a major Republican National Committee donor gathering Saturday night.

The event took place at Trump's Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida, where the nation's 45th president delivered a keynote address that often veered away from an advance release of his speech.

"If that were Schumer instead of this dumb son of a b----, Mitch McConnell, they would never allow it to happen," Trump said of the certification of the 2020 election results at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, according to The Washington Post.

"They would have fought it," Trump said, also referring to the election as "bulls---" at one point.

Trump vowed in the speech he would help Republicans win back the majority in Congress in 2022.

"I stand before you this evening filled with confidence that in 2022, we are going to take back the House and we are going to reclaim the Senate," he said in his prepared remarks, according to Reuters.

Trump didn’t say whether he plans to run for president again but assured donors "in 2024, a Republican candidate is going to win the White House."

He said any potential announcements of his own candidacy would likely come after the 2022 midterms, according to Reuters.
