Small craft shops, cafes and bars - without the commercial atmosphere. It’s not trying to stand out, it’s not the most visited street in Shanghai, and it’s definitely not for tourists-only.
You will probably notice a nice mix of colonial and traditional Chinese buildings there. The street is located in the heart of French Concession area.
For locals - it’s one of the best arts and crafts enclave in the whole city, so be sure to explore tiny backstreets and buildings around the Taikang Lu (Road) as well. A door to one place can hide a whole labyrinth of allies, shops and bars.
