Doug Aitken: A Mirage House in the Alps
Aitken's signature one-story cabin with mirrored walls reflecting the surrounding landscape is inspired by an image of his native Californian ranch. The house came to the Alps for a while. The interiors are also mirrored, with fragmented panels creating a kaleidoscopic effect.
Mirage Gstaad is open to the public, who can take spectacular selfies and see dizzying alpine vistas through the swinging doors, captivated by a kaleidoscope of light and reflection.
