Sony has a patent pending for a 3D scanner that puts real-world objects into virtual reality.
The 3D scanner will allow scanning not only small objects, but even quite large ones. The main condition is to be able to scan it from all sides, that is, the angle must cover all 360°.
In addition, the scanner can be used not only to put real objects in the virtual world, but also to better combine the real environment with the virtual one.
Of course, it is worth remembering that this is only a patent, so it is unknown how soon the development described in it will appear in serial devices, or if it will appear at all.
