DeepMind tested AlphaCode's AI in a competition for programmers on the Codeforces platform.

AlphaCode solved problems at the level of an average programmer and was in the top 54% of participants. The AI passed 10 tests and generated new code when solving without using off-the-shelf templates.

DeepMind noted that AlphaCode's skills are only applicable in competitive programming for now, but the company is not stopping development of the algorithm.
