Scientists at dNovo have grown human hair on the side of Spot' | Trend Review: IT, technology, business

Scientists at dNovo have grown human hair on the side of Spot's laboratory mouse. This will help cure baldness.

According to Ernesto Lujan, head of the company, they were able to achieve this effect by genetically modifying normal human blood and fat cells into hair follicles. However, this caused some skepticism because of the little information the scientists provided.

In the end, the hair on Spot grew back as early as three weeks after the cell transplantation. Theoretically, the mouse could soon be replaced by a human so that the transplanted cells would cause the dormant follicles to turn back on.
