US asks Brazil to account for murder of Dom and Bruno
The Federal Police stated that the suspects acted alone and have no connection to criminal organizations
The United States government said on Friday (17) that there needs to be accountability for the double murder of British journalist Dom Philips and Brazilian indigenist Bruno Pereira in the Vale do Javari region of western Amazonas.
"We call for accountability and justice - we need to collectively strengthen efforts to protect environmental defenders and journalists," US State Department spokesman Ned Price wrote on Twitter.
