— The president-elect of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, assured on Wednesday morning that he communicated with the Government of Venezuela "to open the borders and reestablish the full exercise of human rights on the border".

Both Petro and Rodolfo Hernandez, who contested the second round, had assured that they would reestablish relations with that country in case of winning.
