Gen Z doesn't want anything to do with tech platforms like Meta's Facebook. A new analysis by eMarketer highlights how young users will continue to migrate from Facebook, instead favouring platforms like TikTok and Snapchat.Snap Inc's Snapchat and China's TikTok have gained popularity among younger users.
Facebook alone is set to lose about 700,000 teenage users by 2025, The Wrap reported. Facebook has been struggling to onboard younger users. Owing to controversies about content moderation, hate speech, and dangers to youngsters, Facebook has been unable to consistently pique Gen Z's interest.Overall, Facebook stands to lose 1.5 million overall teen users between 2020 and 2025. At the same time, Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok will continue to remain popular with younger generations.
