In light of the attacks in Crimea, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry published a humorous drawing of a creature named "Bavovnyatko." This is a mythical beast that likes to play with fire in Russian-occupied territories, and as a result of its "jokes," Russian military airports and depots "self-detonate."
For our subscribers, let us explain the essence of this joke, which is not very clear to the English-speaking community. When Ukraine began fighting in Crimea and on Russian territory, Russian propaganda began calling the explosions "claps" (in Russian it sounds like the word "khlopok"). In Ukrainian it is translated as "cotton" (bavovna).
Therefore, "Bavovnyatko" is a creature that creates explosions and problems for Russians. Ukrainians simply humiliate the occupiers with their own propaganda messages.
