Lionel Messi’s first two months at PSG - how’s it going?

Fine. That’s the short answer. Ok, not great, not terrible.

Five games, three wins, one draw, one defeat, one goal, zero assists. Not the Messi numbers we’re used to, but maybe it shouldn’t be too surprising for a 34-year-old joining a new club for the first time.

PSG went into the international break with their first defeat of the season, a 2-0 defeat at Rennes. Messi, Neymar, Mbappe, Di Maria all started and didn’t have a shot on target between them.

But they’re still top of Ligue 1, and top of their Champions League group following their win over Manchester City earlier in the week. A lucky win, perhaps - but one sealed with Messi’s first moment of Parisian magic.
