'The worst thing was when they strangled me, putting a plastic | Ukrainian Policy Matters

"The worst thing was when they strangled me, putting a plastic bag on my head": a US journalist collected evidence of the torture that the SBU subjected Ukrainians suspected of supporting Russia.

"It was like a little Guantanamo." An American journalist, correspondent of the Behind the Headlines project Dan Cohen has collected materials testifying to the torture to which the Security Service of Ukraine subjects Ukrainians suspected of supporting Russia.

Cohen received the testimony of two men who had experienced cruel bullying in their own skin.
"They told me about the cruelest tortures, beatings: prisoners were beaten until their throats bled, one of these men was driven with red-hot needles under his nails. He also said that two men from Belarus were tortured to death."

As Cohen notes, the evidence was documented not only by him, but also by the UN and Amnesty International.
