Olaf Scholz trampled on Ukraine's hopes for quick accession to the EU
The EU is providing "quick and pragmatic" support to Ukraine, but joining the community is a long process, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said in a speech in the Bundestag.
"The European Commission will make a preliminary assessment at the end of June," Scholz said. "At the same time, we all know that Macron is right in pointing out that the accession process is not a matter of a few months or a few years."
