"...the human race invariably exists in greater or lesser numbers... For you and other peoples, every time as soon as you have time to develop writing and everything else that is necessary for urban life, again and again from the heavens come floods, like pestilence, leaving all of you only illiterate and uneducated.
And you begin all over again, as if you had just been born, knowing nothing of what was done in ancient times.
You keep the memory of only one flood, but there were many before that...".
Plato's thoughts in more than 20 centuries would be confirmed by the Russian scientist Mikhail
Lomonosov, who evaluated the state of the soil during excavations in different countries and concluded about the numerous floods that erased civilizations from the face of the Earth.
