2021-08-23 07:50:58 Dachigam National Park

Dachigam National Park is located 22 kilometers from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.

The name of the park literally stands for "ten villages" which could be in memory of the ten villages that were relocated for its formation. These ten villages were living in this region before the World War I the beginning of the early 20th century.

The park has been a protected area since 1910, first under the care of the Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir and later under the observation of the concerned government authorities.

It was initially created to ensure clean drinking water supply for the city of Srinagar.

It was upgraded and declared a National Park in the year 1981

Fauna -The main animal species that Dachigam is known for is the hangul, or the Kashmir stag. Other species include:

Musk deer (roose kat)

Leopard

Himalayan serow

Kashmir grey langur

Kashmir stag (hangul)

Located high among its interiors is the Marsar lake from which flows the Dagwan river. This river flows all the way down to, and past, the lower region where it runs along the only proper road in the park and is also known for its fish population, the trout.

is the second largest contiguous protected area, after the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve and surrounding protected areas.

The park is home to a number of species of endangered mammals, including the snow leopard.

Hemis National Park is India's protected area inside the Palearctic realm, outside the Changthang Wildlife Sanctuary northeast of Hemis, and the proposed Tso Lhamo Cold Desert Conservation Area in North Sikkim.

The park is bounded on the north by the banks of the Indus River, and includes the catchments of Markha, Sumdah and Rumbak, and parts of the Zanskar Range.

2021-08-19 18:11:09 Carbon negative ( carbon negative country)

-The term carbon negative takes the concept of carbon neutrality a step further. Where carbon neutral is an equal balance between the carbon dioxide you emit into the atmosphere and how much you remove from it, carbon negative means you remove more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere than you emit.

- Bhutan is the only carbon negative country in the world

Due to atmospheric pollution rainfall is made so acidic which causes harm to the environment and the main cause is due to industrial burning of fuels that contain sulfur and nitrogen oxides which combine with water and form the acid. The acid rain which causes damages to rocks and marbles is called as stone leprosy

2021-08-16 14:23:03 Ecocline

Ecocline is a zone of gradual but continuous change from one ecosystem to another when there is no sharp boundary between the two in terms of species composition.

Ecocline occurs across the environmental gradient (gradual change in abiotic factors such as altitude, temperature (thermocline), salinity (halocline), depth, etc.).
