Jahangir entertaining Shah AbbasIn this allegorical painting, made at a time when Jahangir was deeply worried about Safavid incursions around Kandahar, abul hasn had the finesse to paint a frail and gaunt Shah Abbas, who appears to be painfully clutching his stomach, while Jahangir and his courtiers are pleasantly, and prosperously, plump.
This image was entirely fictitious, the two men never meeting in real life though the image of Shah Abbas may have taken into account the Indian embassy's feedback from Persia.
