The maiden test trial of the indigenousAir Droppable Container ‘ADC-150’ was successfully conducted by Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Navy.
The trial was conducted from IL 38SD aircraft off the coast of Goa on April 27, 2023.
The purpose of the trial is to increase the naval operational logistics capabilities by facilitatingquick response to ships that are deployedmore than 2,000 km from the coast.
As a result, the ships will not be required to come close to the coast to collect spares and stores.
