In addition to his Distinguished Service Cross, Pvt. Kee also received the Purple Heart, the French Croix de Guerre with silver gilt for valor, and promotion to Color Sergeant, a position dedicated to protecting unit colors reserved for the most stalwart & courageous Soldiers.
