2022-08-31 06:36:12 There are reports circulating in the media that a marked San José police vehicle was struck by gun fire on northbound Highway 101 near the 85 interchange.

That information is not accurate.

CHP Gilroy received a call at approx 1:42 PM from one of our off-duty Officers.

The Officer reported his personal vehicle was struck at least one time by gun fire. He was not struck and thankfully not injured.

We will be assisting CHP with this investigation.

A portion of northbound 101 is closed while the investigation is conducted.

That is all the info we have to share at this moment.

2022-08-31 06:35:58 Florida: An officer of the Port St. Lucie Police Department said he was dragged from a car he pulled over during a routine traffic stop on Saturday morning.

The officer noticed 19-year-old Dylan Morgan's vehicle when he was on patrol on SW Tulip Blvd. In the arrest report, the officer noted that Morgan's car had a tinted windshield, loud muffler and tinted taillights.

The officer said he pulled Morgan over and noticed a strong scent of marijuana coming from inside the car and saw a black bag on his lap. After checking his driver license, the officer asked Morgan about the smell of marijuana, Morgan denied having a medical marijuana card and any weed in his car.

2022-08-31 06:34:15 JUST IN: Police say they have detained a person believed to be responsible for the shooting of three Dutch army soldiers on Saturday in downtown Indianapolis.

One of the soldiers, Simmie Postseason, 26, died, according to the Netherlands Ministry of Defence.

Shamar Duncan, 22, of Indianapolis, was arrested on a preliminary charge of murder, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said Tuesday night.

Duncan will not be eligible for release from jail as the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office reviews the case, IMPD says.
