Yes, this act actually allows the government to imprison someone for up to 5 years for trying to come home. But as of this month it ONLY applies to anyone trying to come home from India.

But why only India, when the USA, the UK and even Brazil are recording more infections and deaths per million cases than India?
Why are returning citizens from ANY other country in the world allowed to enter into hotel quarantine without risking huge fines (up to $66,000) or jail time? your guess is as good as ours.

Oh and the tip of the iceberg, is that when this act was voted on, MP’s had no clue what was actually in it. In fact, when asked, most told their constituents that it was a hoax.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is Australia today.
