Expecting a great game today.
Both clubs come with a mentality to win, with different experiences and playstyles.
Liverpool has a very versatile squad with several options for different roles and demands that might be needed during the game. Klopp is very good at reading and adjusting at the right time, we've seen this several times during the Premier League, English Cups and Champions League. One example is how Liverpool adapted to game with Villarreal in Spain changing to a 2-3-5 that always gave number advantage in the offense since Villarreal was playing 4-4-2 and in all goals we could see one Liverpool man with no marking in goal position.
Hard to point to players to watch on this squad full of high quality and world class players.
Real Madrid has a limited squad with very different experiences. Some players are old, but extremely experienced and keep their calm and cool in the decisive moments. We saw this several times during the league and Champions League also with how they turned the result with Manchester City although the English side was much more dangerous during both games.
Real Madrid, their squad and Ancelotti are used to these types of games and pressure which is a weapon that will play on their side.
Hard to point to players to watch with such high class from back to front.
Liverpool are slight favourites for this matchup and I have to agree. I haven't seen any team defend well enough to prevent the Liverpool side from creating good chances.
In my opinion, Real Madrid was a bit too dependent on the struck of genius from one or two players in the Champions League this season and I think that Klopp will look to prevent those players to have room to show their level, this can give room to Vinícius and Rodrygo (although I assume he will be a sub). If Vinícius is on fire today and doesn't fail the usual 3-4 attempts per game, we will see a game of goals for sure.
If Real Madrid scores first, the game will be harder for Liverpool.
My suggestions
- Liverpool to win the Champions League @ 1.6
- Follow the game live for goals over/under markets
- Avoid corners as they are quite situational for these teams
- Enjoy the game with a cold drink and friends!
