The startup Arrival presented a prototype of an electric bus.

Its mass production in the USA is is slated to begin in 2022. It will not be more expensive than a diesel bus. Prior to that, the company had been producing minibuses.

The electric bus market is heating up as countries, states and cities push towards zero-emission transport, Reuters notes. Earlier, the U.S. Congress approved $1 trillion in infrastructure spending that includes $5.25 billion for electric buses through 2026.
