INFORMED CONSENT TO MEDICAL TREATMENT- PARENTS AND OTHERS TAKE NOTE

I have had many distressed parents contact me about the other parent of their child taking the child to get jabbed after talking the child into it, without their agreement. Many of these parents are still in a relationship or married -they are not separated. It is difficult to threaten legal proceedings etc in those circumstances and many clients do not want to divorce over this issue.

So if you are in that situation I suggest that you attend the appointment for your child with the other parent and provide this link and state clearly in a letter and verbally to the doctor or vax administrator (video if you have to) that as the child’s parent you do not consent and also that the child is not mature enough to understand and consent within the proper meaning of informed consent.

Subject to any court order being made stating to the contrary, each parent shares joint parental responsibility and therefore must consult each other for any long term decisions including medical treatment for the child.
