The impacts this unprecedented time has had on our babies, children and teens has been huge and the full extent for some may not be seen for many years to come.
The isolation, limited connection, interactions & play have been a big adjustment in itself but with masks covering the faces of many around us, reducing that connection even further and serving as a constant visual representation of fear they want us to feel. It's understandable that our children will be affected socially, physically, mentally & developmentally.
“There are a lot of things that are really important for human communication, and human faces are definitely one of the most important of them.” Seth Pollak, Head of the Child Emotion Lab
Our children & teens have missed out on being in school surrounded by the laughter of their peers, playing out in the yard at lunch, after school hobbies, activities & sports, birthdays & socialising with their friends, building on these important connections.
