The above figure is for FY 2022-23. NSO calculates GDP by Production/Value Added (and in some sectors income data is taken where production figures not available) and Expenditure approach. Ideally both should result in same figures but due to huge informal economy there may be slight difference and that is called discrepancy. Value added figures are taken as actual and whatever is the difference is adjusted as discrepancy in Expenditure approach.
Presently, due to WPI figures decreasing or becoming negative.... our Nominal GDP growth in the current FY 2023-24 (first quarter) is very close to Real GDP growth [Not reported in the above figure] and a controversy is being raised that that there is no (nominal) growth as reported in The Hindu/Express. No need to go into all this.

No need to focus on Gresham's Law, but the concept that is used is very relevant for your exam. As its a technical issue, I will make a video explanation of the topic soon.

RBI Lending Guidelines
Last month RBI asked lenders to allow borrowers/customers to switch from floating interest rate loan to fixed interest rate. There are various terms and conditions regarding this (which are coming in the newspapers) and how lenders should communicate to borrowers... All these are operational matters and not relevant for your UPSC Exam.

Now my 7th edition of the book is being published by 'S Chand'. This is exactly the same book which I released in April 2023. So now in the bookstores you will be mostly seeing this book only. Some previous stock may be available with shops...you can buy anyone. But all further printing and distribution will be done by S Chand. Academic work/updation, I will keep on doing for all future additions. 7th edition is for 2024 UPSC Exam.
