The thing that’s always seemed strange to me about “drag queen story hour” is just how thin the veneer of a cover story for exposing children to someone doing a highly sexualised performance is. I’ve never heard of a “story hour” before, I never went to a “story hour” as a child, no one I’ve asked has any recollection of attending a “story hour” as a child. It’s as if some anachronistic thing has just sprung up across the entire Western world seemingly out of the blue. I’m actually offended at how bad the cover story is. If they’d just called it “tolerance training hour” and done the same thing it’d be less insulting to the intelligence.
