European allies are insisting that the United States postpone the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan and thereby give NATO allies more time to leave the country, writes the Wall Street Journal.

The United States has pledged to provide logistical support to its coalition partners during the withdrawal of their troops. However, some countries said they would not be able to leave Afghanistan in time, and asked to leave the US military after July 4.

According to the WSJ, some countries, in particular Germany, have asked the United States to postpone its withdrawal from Afghanistan until July 18. US officials responded that troop withdrawal could be delayed by two weeks or longer
