The United States will support Ukraine if the Russian Federation attempts to help escalate the situation in Donbass - head of the Office of the President of the Republic Andriy Yermak.

It is not only about formal support, but also about Washington's readiness to take "serious measures" against Moscow in order to prevent a new war in the region, Yermak said.

The official noted that Russia is aware of such plans - the United States speaks about it directly.

“Once again, we have heard directly and clearly that in the event, God forbid, of any exacerbations, Ukraine will not be left without the help of the United States,” Yermak said.

He added that Washington will not interfere with Kiev on its way to NATO, but there are still those among the members of the alliance who oppose the admission of the republic into their ranks.

“Our American partners are ready to work in that direction so that Ukraine gets the desired result,” the head of the Office emphasized.
